Happy New Year 2565!
On the occasion of the Thai New Year, Janthra Spa organized a party on April 20th, 2022 at 5 rue Bernard Palissy, inviting Thailand to the heart of the 6 district of Paris.
The Buddhist New Year, held between 13 and 15 April each year, is one of the key events in Thailand to celebrate the birth of Buddha, 543 years before that of Jesus Christ.
Between traditions and celebrations, let’s go back to this exceptional moment that the team had at Janthra Spa!
The day began smoothly with the preparation of the spa and the team before the arrival of the guests. Thai music, floral decorations, traditional outfits, tables and offerings, everything is finally ready. The Janthra Spa team and its guests are sitting on the ground waiting for the monks to arrive.
It is 11 am when two Cambodian monks from the Buddhist temple of Créteil arrive and settle in silence. Draped in their orange costume called « ka sa wa phat », the monks begin their prayers addressed to the spirits, always directed towards our venerable ancestors, bearers of peace, tolerance and love. Whether they are Buddhist or not, the fervor of the participants is palpable, the moment is sweet and intense.
All seated at the foot of the monks, we listen and repeat their prayers in communion. Then comes the moment of the blessing, one of the monks begins to bless each faithful and every place of the spa with holy water, continuing his prayers full of happiness for Janthra Spa, its team and its guests.
After this emotional moment, it is time for the offerings made to the monks by the faithful in the form mainly of food and drinks offered to them, gifts considered as « good deeds» bringing good luck to those who make them. Then we each pass our turn in front of the monks who give us in turn a bracelet of red wire sign of protection.
The ceremony then ended with the monks' lunch, then that of the faithful. A meal prepared the day before by each of the masseuses, such as the Pad Thai (fried noodles), the Phat Krapao (sautéed Thai basil) and many other very good dishes based on chicken or fish, and of course Thai rice. The flavor mix is simply exquisite and everyone seems happy and soothed.
This day was therefore dedicated to mark the end of the Thai New Year and to wish each other luck and happiness for this new year 2565 which begins, happy new year to all who also say themselves in Thai: « Sawasdee pii maï » (สวัสดีปีใหม่)
A pleasure to share, between traditions and celebration.
This is the spirit that Janthra Spa offers you every day in the 6th district of Paris, Thai massages loaded with ancestral traditions and know-how, relaxation treatments filled with benevolence and generosity.
